Floris W. Kraaimaat (1942) is a
licenced clinical psychologist and
psychotherapist and emeritus
professor of medical psychology of
the Radboud University Nijmegen,
the Netherlands. He attended the
Utrecht of University, where he
received his Ph.D. on the thesis 'Stuttering,
a molecular analysis of
stuttering behaviour'.
Before moving to Nijmegen he held
positions at the Erasmus
University Rotterdam (until 1974),
University of Utrecht (until
1991), Southern Illinois
University at Carbondale, and at
the University of Amsterdam where
he was appointed a full professor
in clinical psychology in 1991.
Between 1995 and 2007 he held a
full professorship and chair in
Medical Psychology at the
University Medical Centre of the
University of Nijmegen.
He received an honorary membership
of the Dutch Association of
Behaviour and Cognitive Therapy in
1981 and was awarded the
‘Nederlandse Reumatologie Penning’
of the Dutch Association of
Rheumatology in 2007.
He is cofounder and past editor of
the Dutch Journal of Behaviour
Therapy, past editorial consultant
of Psychological Assessment and
editorial consultant of the
Journal of Fluency Disorders and
the International Journal of
Behavioural Medicine.
He is a reviewer for many
journals.
